Inland Flood Rescue Association

>> Saturday, 15 November 2008

IFRA (www.floodrescueuk.com) is an Association formed to give the UK’s independent Volunteer teams a national voice. Although you may think that such events as flooding or searching rivers, lakes and wetlands is covered by Search and Rescue teams in general, it is in fact a complicated and time consuming discipline that requires specialist equipment, exceptional fitness and motivation.

IFRA provides a focused, pragmatic approach to help it’s members comply to the regulations and assure the governing bodies a level of competence that they can be assured will be compatible with the other agencies used in flooding emergencies.
